Program Description: Planting, Cultivating and
Harvesting: High dollar sales takes time
and preparation. In this full day workshop Julia will
discuss how she pre-sells her portrait sales into high
dollar rewards. She will present her methods from the
planning session, to photographing her clients with
their desires in mind and then reaps the rewards with
the sales presentation. Julia will also share how her
and her husband Jeff went from photographing 35 weddings
at a $5000 average in 2002 to photographing 25 weddings
in 2007 with an average of $12,000 all without changing
their wedding packages. Come willing to learn and be
inspired to be yourself and follow your passions. Julia Woods MPhotog, Cr, ABI
Washington, Illinois Bio: As a wife
and mother of four, Julia has found the ability to use
her love for relationships and the tool of photography
to build a business that allows her to continue to put
her home life as her top priority. In 1993, she and her
husband Jeff, decided to start photographing weddings as
a side job. Julia was given the task of turning the love
that she and Jeff shared for photography, into a
business that could actually support their family. After
many years of hard work, she was able to create a
business that was profitable, attracted a higher end
client, gave she and Jeff the freedom to be themselves
and most importantly, keep their family first. She has been
so grateful for the knowledge she has gained along the
way, that she truly enjoys inspiring other photographers
with the tools that will allow them to find the life
that they enjoy. She conducts 3-day workshops and
travels around the world teaching all aspects of the
photography business. Julia has been honored to have her work recognized by numerous associations including, 6 Album of the Year awards from the Association of Professional Photographers of Illinois (APPI), the Professional Photographers of America (PPA) Loan collections and received Photographer of the Year Platinum 2006 and Bronze 2008 from PPA, five Kodak Gallery awards, two Kodak Elite awards, and five Fuji Masterpiece awards. She has earned her Master and Craftsman degrees through Professional Photographers of America (PPA). Her work has been featured in ‘Rangefinder,’ ‘PDN,’ ‘Professional Photographers of America,’ and ‘The Rainbow’ trade magazines as well as various technical resource books. Her work is featured in such consumer publications as ‘Martha Stewart Weddings,’ ‘In Style Weddings,’ ‘Modern Bride’ and ‘Bride Magazines.’
